wow

String rhythm is off from 0:30-0:34. I didn't like the rushed notes on the upbeat in that measure.

I like the melody played from 0:35-1:00. This is sort of the climax of the song. Although, I think this song is about never having a climax and is supposed to create a feeling of constantly drifting with slight ups and downs.

I liked the low, resonating string that played through the song. It's sort of laughing in your face. Like a big monster monitoring everything around. A giant, burrowing sandsnake (not onix). The sand snake is pretty cliche, though.

It sounds like someone is suffering from dehydration and is hallucinating. A battle with one's own mind. To resist your worst enemy, yourself.

The echoing percussion was a nice touch. Rhythm was off at 0:27 btw.

I know I mentioned the rhythm being off a couple times, but maybe it helps to simulate a staggering walk? I didn't subtract any for the rhythm.

Your song here is inspiring me to make something similar.

From 10, I subtracted 0.

vErY cLeVaaa :)

P.S. If there were any improvements to be made, it'd be to turn down the volume of the guitar. It's just a bit overpowering.

ShatterTheSky22 responds:

lmao "not onix"! love it.

I think I like that the rhythm is off a few times. It kinda gives off impression that nature is constantly moving at its own pace, so the person has to adapt to that and try to keep up or slow down in accordance. And to be honest, dehydration/hallucination was actually an idea had in my head while making this, so kudos to you my friend.

Thank you so much for the score and review.

Nice Work

It was a nice use of dissonant chords, actually. Creates an erratic atmosphere for dialogue with robbers or simply exploring an area with many enemies.

Using odd time helped in creating a rushing feeling that tells the player, subconsciously, to "get shit done." Good job on that. Don't see enough music with odd time signatures on Newgrounds (I have a few but they aren't so great).

The drum samples you used in this song sound too basic (although you can say the same about the samples I use on my songs, as well). Also, you should cover up the hissing noise from the reverb on the kick drum.

Very nice song. I hope your friend approves of your work.

Thanks for the nice review!

I'm glad you enjoyed the song though, you'll have to read the author's response from the last review, for I'm tired of writing from my Wii!

Hi Maverlyn

I don't know if this is going to be an improvement but maybe raise the violins an octave at 0:36

Very nice job. You already know the score.

Maverlyn responds:

Just want to make sure; that's you playing live right? It sounds great.

Could you review my latest WIP please?

MonkeyV responds:

Thank you, kind sir.
Yes, it is. Just plugged the guitar straight into the computer.

Mhm, sure. One moment.

Hey!

The samples in your song attack late.

I can tell you're using FL Studio.

So, to fix the attack,

1. click on your sample/channel. You should now have your channel settings menu up.

2. find the "INS" button and click it.

3. Click the red button next to where it says "time" and make sure the light comes on.

4. Play around with the "att" knob.

You've fixed it! :)

LizardRock responds:

no need for such a complex method,
it was sytris, the synth violins,
i forgot to up the attack speed,

Hey

This reminded me of any jrpg dungeon level lol.

Can you make improvements? I'd say, change velocity of the cymbal after every hit.

Daniel-M responds:

I tried turning the hi-hat down a little, or i could vary the velocity to make it more realistic, but thanks for the review!

Burning Bridges

Loved the song and love the title :) Good Job Dude!

Talemir responds:

Thanks, I appreciate it. :)

Hey

I was like, didn't you already do this song? and then I read the description box :p

Nice song

Maverlyn responds:

Thank you! ^^

Lol

About the "bell" that \/\/ was walkting about, You should go to your EQ and lower the high frequency on that instrument. I hope I said that right.

Compaq272 responds:

Actually I CAN'T do that. That or I have absolutely no idea how. Last I knew, GarageBand couldn't do that. And a glockenspiel has a high sound anyway, but the marimba I got matches the real song more... but I don't see why it matters all the much. I mean unless you have sensitive ears it doesn't hurt. But I'll remake it ONE LAST TIME. *ONE* last time and replace it. And the instruments are probably going to be more of my own choice instead of trying to sound like the game like I did here.
